The art curriculum at Immaculate Conception school is based on a chronology of art through history. We examine the impact that cultural and political events had on the artists and their artwork. By examining artwork in this way, we are able to discuss the many uses of art as well as the evolution of art through recorded history. The older grades also study specific artists including Georgia O'Keefe, Diego Rivera, Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Claude Monet. They emulate the defining characteristics of these artists works, which helps the development of their own artistic talents.
