Some parishioners, after reading the title, may be asking themselves? Was the Convent ever closed? In fact, two floors of the building have been closed for over 16 years, and the accumulation of trash, not to mention black mold, old carpets and damaged doors and windows deprived the use of those facilities for school and pastoral activities.

Aware of the needs of our school for the academic year of 2022/2023, and consulting with professionals, Father Wellington and Mrs. Tracy led a general project of cleaning, painting walls, fixing damaged doors and windows, removal of old carpets and unclogging restroom pipes. The former cloistered facilities are today classrooms and meeting spaces which allow both parish groups and school activities to give new life to the old building of Immaculate Conception Convent.

We are all happy that this important project, which seemed initially to be something so expensive and far from our reality, has expanded our capacity and number of students, and it has also created the possibility of establishing a Music School which serves the whole community of Revere, not mentioning the creation of new facilities for parish groups and activities.

The renovation of facilities of the Convent is not concluded yet. The chapel, sacristy and the community room will be cleaned and renovated. Father Wellington and Fr. Eric envision the new chapel to be a multi use celebrative space, allowing our students to have a beautiful place to pray during school hours, and the exposition of the Blessed Sacrament during the evening, including meetings of the Neocatechumenal Way communities and of the Grupo de Oración during the week.
