The learning environment at Immaculate Conception School combines intellectual and imaginative endeavors with anchoring abstract knowledge through participation in hands-on experiences. The school shapes the whole child - body, mind, and spirit- by providing access to the curriculum through a wide variety of forms that ignite the passions and evoke the learning styles of individual students. Teachers not only encourage but model the joy of learning, a gift that students will carry with them through their educational career and into their adult lives. That gift is not defined just by the challenge and rewards of mastering specific skills and curricular materials but by the development of a passion for learning Immaculate Conception School nurtures a student's unique intellectual and creative abilities, celebrating them as God's children in our Catholic learning community.
Immaculate Conception's Early Childhood Program is a wonderful introduction to the school setting that helps our youngest children learn and grow within a safe, nurturing, Christ-centered environment. Children develop at their own pace and with their own unique learning style as teachers utilize a curriculum that includes hands-on scientific exploration, creative art projects, music, movement and rhythm. In addition, themed units, centers, and holiday celebrations enhance the learning experience. Prayer, bible stories, and religious instruction enrich the child's spiritual growth. By the completion of Pre-K, students will have received the reading and math readiness instruction necessary to enter the formal reading and math programs in Kindergarten.
Students in Preschool and Pre-K receive additional music classes from the school's music teacher, art classes from the art teacher, and physical education classes from the gym teacher.
